As a Baker based in our production kitchen at Rheged you will be baking products from recipes in big batches to supply the other areas of our business. The range will include tray-bakes, biscuits, cookies, muffins and bread products, all using the best ingredients with no preservatives. As our bakery grows there will be opportunities to develop your career at Westmorland and we will always value your ideas for improvements and new recipes and bakes.
You will need to be able to work at pace whilst following correct procedures and maintaining a clean, tidy and safe environment for your colleagues. Our recipes will evolve over time so you will need to use your skills and passion for food and baking to ensure these work in larger batches. Food safety is paramount so you will need to ensure all processes and safety paperwork is completed accurately and you will work as part of a larger team, needed flexibility and initiative to sometimes change your own activities to meet difference circumstances and business need.
Start times will vary from 6am to 10am, working 8.5 hours shift with 45 mins unpaid break, 38.75 hours per week. Hours will be on a Rota system, 5 days out of 7, which will involve weekend working.
