We have a really exciting opportunity for an Assistant Buyer to join our buying team, based at our Family Office in the Rheged Centre in Penrith. This role will support the Senior Buyer to curate the product selection in the Farmshops of the award winning Westmorland Services - Tebay, Gloucester and Cairn Lodge.
Working as part of the Farmshop Buying Team you will support with the day to day needs of the business as well as longer term projects. Tasks will range from resolving invoice discrepancies to bringing on board new suppliers and everything in between, including;
- Being responsible for nurturing new suppliers and/or ranges from launch until the first three monthly review, with regards to sales, margin, and operational issues.
- Working alongside the Visual Merchandiser to help assist the creation and launch of planograms for each site and work with operations to maintain these.
- Maintaining the supplier database, helping prepare seasonal strategies and presentations, researching new suppliers and keeping track of market trends.
- Managing ongoing communications with suppliers on product details and changes. You will organise promotional cycles working with suppliers, brand and operations. Then communicating with the buyer to authorise the changes.
- Reporting on commercial performance, building and running reports, seasonally, quarterly or weekly depending on the needs of the buyer.
- Undertaking analysis of sales, margin and fixture performance for each given range review. Helping to prepare seasonal strategies and presentations. Produce a product timeline for each season (Easter, Summer, Christmas) and weekly timeline to launch.
